Yard Waste Drop-Off Rules

Yard waste can be classified as anything organic that can be biodegradable. Some examples of yard waste that we will accept are:

  • Leaves
  • Grass
  • Tree branches
  • Tree logs <12" in diameter
  • Shrubs
  • Brush

Things that are not classified as yard waste, that we will not accept at our disposal center, are items such as:

  • Plastic, including bags, flowerpots, and bottles
  • Anything that grows below ground level
  • Solid waste product
  • Demolition wood
  • Mud or dirt
  • Tree logs >12" in diameter

Wood Waste Drop-Off

Not all kinds of wood waste is acceptable to bring to our drop off-centers. You must first consider the type, size, and treatment of your wood waste. Examples of wood types we accept include:

  • Clean, untreated wood
  • Solid wood pallets
  • Clean, solid wood chips
  • Solid wood crates

Wood waste that we don’t accept:

  • Treated lumber
  • Painted lumber
  • Oil-soaked material
  • Plywood
  • Particle board
  • Pressed wood
  • Foam or plastic, such as shrink wrap left on pallets
  • Metal
  • Cardboard
